Accepted at Maine School of Science and Mathematics
YORK - Ian Lane, son of Lisa and Brian Lane of York, has been accepted for fall enrollment as a junior at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics (MSSM).The MSSM, located in the town of Limestone in northern Aroostook County, is a public residential high school that serves motivated high school sophomores, juniors and seniors from across the state and beyond.
The rigorous and challenging academic program, which is well known for its excellence in science and mathematics, also includes a wide variety of offerings in the humanities and fine arts, such as ethics and Chinese.
The unique residential experience provides students with a close-knit learning community and growth opportunities extending beyond the classroom. The academic program, coupled with the residential experience, provides students with the preparation that they need to succeed at even the most challenging of colleges and universities.
Applications are still being accepted for the 2006-2007 school year.
