Wildcats upset Knights 5-1
By Stan Ross
Last Wednesday the York Wildcats (5-3) left the wet soggy coastline and traveled inland to face the Poland Regional Knights. Junior Dan Moran pitched a complete game to improve his record to 4-0. According to pitching coach, Fred Knox, Moran was backed up by some good fielding and some good hitting. York had 12 hits in the game on their way to their fifth win of the season and scored three runs in the first inning. Senior Co-Captain Chris Knox served as the designated hitter and went three for four including a home run. Jeff Cole, the other senior Co-Captain helped lead the York offense when he delivered in the clutch twice with two outs and came up with two hits and two RBI.
