Next Week: Meet Hiroko Harada

Hiroko Harada has spent the better part of the past three weeks working with second-grade students at Village Elementary School and sharing such Japanese arts as origami and storytelling. During Harada's visit, the students in Beth McKenna's second-grade class have conducted interviews and taken notes to create a newspaper article for The Independent about her visit to York. Above, Harada smiles as she is surrounded by the children after a lesson on writing a greeting card and creating a Japanese envelope last week.
