Two upcoming special events postponed due to flooding
YORK - Some special events are being postponed due to this week's flooding here in town.Due to the heavy saturation of the Grant House Property the Annual Old York Garden Club Plant Sale has been postponed to Saturday, May 27, from 9 a.m. until noon.
It will still be held at the Grant House on Route One.
Because of the high, swift water at the York Fish and Game pond and the very soggy condition of the association's parking facilities, the fishing derby has been postponed until June. An exact date will be announced.
As a further note, during the late hours of May 13 and early hours of May15, a few brave men and women struggled through the raging storm and raising flood waters to keep the association's pond and clubhouse secure.
