Lady Warriors 5 - Lady Cats 2
By Stan Ross
Last Saturday, at the early hour of 9:30 a.m., the York Lady Wildcats (3-7) got off the bus at Wells (9-2) but suffered from the first inning blues as they made three errors that led to five unearned runs. A disappointed York Coach Lynne Michaud commented: "We dug ourselves a big hole and couldn't climb out. After the first inning we shut them down but their pitcher (Hannah Knight 8-2) had nine strike outs. Because of the rain outs we play Wells again at our place on Monday, May 22."York scored a single run in the fourth inning on singles by Kellie Lajoie, Michaela Franey and a fielders choice, RBI, by Caitlin Keating. The Lady Cats scored their only other run in the sixth on a single by Franey and a RBI double by Keating.
