Boys LAX finishes with win over Biddeford

The York Wildcats ended their regular season play with a hard fought 10-8 victory over the Biddeford Tigers in a close game throughout as the Wildcats lead 4-2 after the first quarter and 6-4 at halftime. The Wildcats took an 8-5 lead after 3 quarters and had a 9-6 lead in the fourth quarter only to see Biddeford score 2 straight goals to close the gap to 9-8. However the Wildcats scored the next goal to cement the hard fought 10-8 victory. Scoring for the Wildcats were Cam Dillon with 3 goals and 1 assist, Cory Borgel with 2 goals, Dan Powers with 1 goal and 1assist. Also scoring for the Wildcats were Tim Roy, Kyle Banfield, Tony Romano and Charles Naimie with 1 goal each. Justin Gallant and Tom Ross each had 1 assist to round out the scoring. The Wildcat's finished their regular season with a record of 5-7 and now will wait till next week to see where they are seeded in the playoffs. This was a huge step forward for the Wildcats as they showed a lot of hard work, determination, and a never say quit attitude throughout the whole year especially after a tough beginning schedule as they started off with 4 straight losses against Yarmouth at home and 3 straight road games at Freeport, Greely, and Cape Elizabeth.
