Fun for young ones at the York Public Library begins this month

YORK - Beginning in late June, the York Public Library Children's Room will celebrate Summer Reading Program, "Paws, Claws, Scales and Tales."

The library will be hosting a number of different events.

On June 27, come watch "Homeward Bound," the first of nine animal-themed films to be shown on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. in July and August.

Then, on Thursday, June 29, at 11 a.m., join Kittery Police Officer Jay Durgin and his K-9 partner Hannah - who has been named Region 9's "Drug Dog of the Year" - for a talk and demonstration. This program is for children between the ages of 8 and 11.
