Summer programs at the library for middle school students and more
YORK VILLAGE - York Public Library assistant Kate Bell has organized some fascinating activities for library visitors of middle school age and older.Save Some Endangered Books - Library staff members have selected some wonderful books that they have enjoyed in the past but just don't seem to be checked out much. Read a few of these and then vote for the one you think is "the best book that nobody remembers."
Trivia Quiz - Test your knowledge each week by tackling a trivia question. Enter your name and the correct answer and you might just win one of several weekly prizes. We are looking for creativity as well this summer.
Under the Sea Writer's Workshop - Note cards with quotes about the sea will be posted around the Young Adult Area in the library. Write a short story or poem based on one of the quote. Submitted work will be displayed, with the writer's permission.
Finally, the library staff wants you to read, read, read! Every time you come to the library, report how much time you have spent reading. For every three hours you spend reading, you can enter your name for the grand prize drawing at the end of the summer.

Dina Friedman; "Just Listen" by Sarah Dessen; "Samurai Shortstop" by Alan Gatz; "Ark Angel" by Anthony Horowitz; "Chew on This" by Eric Schlosser; "Stormwitch" by Susan Vaught; "Uglies" by Scott Westerfield, and "Down the Rabbit Hole" by Peter Abrahams.
