Mary Bane
YORK - Mary L. Bane, 90 years young, died June 11, 2006, surrounded by the compassionate folks of the Pavilion, on the campus of Goodall Hospital, in Sanford, where she was so very fortunate to be a resident.Mary loved each and every staff member and always thanked them accordingly. Her gift to us is the love she sent our way, especially these past few weeks.
Mary, a lifelong learner, was in her 80s when she took up bowling and swimming, thanks to her friend Justin Lewis of Sentry Hill Day Care Program. She spent many wonderful days at Sentry Hill and that was a wonderful bridge that she was able to cross to arrive at the Pavilion.
At 78, Mary climbed Mt. Washington with her daughter Eileen. Besides hiking, she also enjoyed walks on the beach, bird watching, gardening and spending time with her pets and children. She was a very active participant of the Grandfriends Program under the direction of Kathy Welch and her fourth-grade students from Coastal Ridge Elementary School.
Sante and Eileen Guiliani would like to thank their friends and neighbors for all their kindness and especially for including Mary as part of their family these past years.
In keeping with Mary's wishes, there will be no services. Many will remember Mary in different ways. In lieu of flowers, please give time or donate to the charity of your choice.
