Lillian Bradish Biewend
CAPE NEDDICK - Lillian Bradish Biewend, 97, of Cape Neddick, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at home.She was born in Hallock, Minnesota, August 13, 1908, the daughter of the late John H. Bradish and Kathleen H. (Suffel) Bradish. Lillian was a graduate of the University of North Dakota Class of 1930, and a Tri Delta sorority member.
She is the recent widow of Cameron Biewend, and predeceased by one brother, John H. Bradish, Jr., and grandson, Christopher L. Linney.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law David L. and Rebecca L. Linney; granddaughter, Shanlee D. Ginchereau; great-grandchildren Mikaylee M., Livia C., and Breckyn C. Ginchereau, all of Cape Neddick; cousin Mary-Leigh C. Smart of York; sister-in-law Margaret Ernest Bradish and nephew Peter K. Bradish, both of Florida.
Lillian's passion for the outdoors nurtured a lifetime of gardening and during the winters she enjoyed figure skating and needlepoint. It was her pleasure to support civic projects and worked for various organizations. She was petite in stature but cast a distinguishing shadow over her family and friends. The family is most appreciative of her excellent care for the past 12 years. Always encouraging, sensible, wise, honest, practical and fun loving, she will be missed by many.
A memorial service will be held on June 24, at 10:30 a.m., in St. George's Episcopal Church, York Harbor.
Those who wish to remember Lillian in a special way may make a gift in her memory to the Lyle Littlefield Ornamentals Trial Garden Endowment Fund, to insure the garden's continuance for decades to come, as well as research, teaching and outreach activities, at the University of Maine.
