Rolling Stone has called John Gorka "the pre-eminent male singer-songwriter of the new folk movement." This week, he'll be live in Ogunquit. Gorka's musical career has spanned 15 years and eight albums, and he will be releasing his new album "Writing in the Margins" on July 11. Gorka will be performing on Friday, June 30, at Jonathan's. Selectmen were charged with appointing three members to the seven-member Marginal Way Committee last Tuesday evening, but what should have been nothing more than routine business became heated when Selectman Donato Tramuto challenged the board for not conducting interviews of the nominees and for not welcoming new blood on town boards and committees. Joe Romano and Bruce Lamothe, home owners on Belm Lane, argued unsuccessfully with the Ogunquit Planning Board Monday night as to the definition of a permanent structure. The Dunaway Center hosted a two-week training session from May 31 through June 16 for law enforcement officials spanning the state from York County to Houlton. Vermont is gorgeous in September.
