Academic Notes for July

Reuben W. Blum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Blum of York Harbor, a 10th-grader at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H., earned High Honors for spring term.

Brett P. Hughes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter J. Hughes of York Beach, a 12th-grader at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H., earned High Honors for spring term.

Dennis B. Labbe, son of Mr. David Labbe and Mrs. Eloise Labbe of Moody, graduated from Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y., on May 21 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Christopher J. Powers, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Powers of Cape Neddick, graduated with High Honors and was one of 310 members of the class of 2006 who receive a diploma at the 225th commencement exercises at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H., on June 11.

Elisa Washburn
Elisa Washburn, daughter of Georgia Arn of Cape Neddick and Lyle Washburn of San Diego, Calif., received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree on June 4, 2006, from Touro University's College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, Calif.

Elisa graduated from York High School in 1984. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from San Diego State University in 2002. Elisa returned to Maine for two years of studies at University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine at the Biddeford Pool Campus. She transferred to Touro University's College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, Calif., for two years of hospital rotations. Elisa graduated with high honors along with 125 others. Elisa has started her family practice residency at Natividad Medical Center in Salinas, Calif.

Jared P. Webber, son of David and Julie Webber of York, an 11th-grader at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H., earned High Honors for spring term.

Allison L. Wickert of Ogunquit was placed on the Dean's List for the winter 2006 semester at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich.
