Library Happenings

When the York Public Library, York Parks and Recreation and Kennebunk Savings Bank team up, you never know what you might find at the library. On Thursday, July 6, it was a traveling ark of sorts, as Zabby's Animal Farm came to town with good-tempered goats, a passive pig, beautiful bunnies, gentle goslings and lovable lambs to the delight of a flock of families. Pictured is three-year-old Emma Tinervin, greeting a gosling on the library's lawn. Several local residents who attended the event said it was the best petting farm they had ever visited. For more on what's on the library's calendar for the weeks ahead, see The Independent's Library Happenings page.

This week, the York Public Library offers readers of The Independent a handy clip-out instruction sheet to help them learn how to use the library's online services. There's plenty to do in the weeks ahead at the York Public Library. The York Public Library Association will hold its annual meeting at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, at the Library.
