The York Hospital Breast Cancer Survivor Group, which meets the third Monday of the month from 6:30 to 8:30pm in the Ellis Conference Room at York Hospital, welcomes new members. Women who attend survivor groups cope better, heal more quickly, and live longer. New members, whether or not their treatment was at York Hospital, are invited to come to the meetings and be with women who share their story. Friends are welcome too. During these meetings the members share: information, coping tips and strategies, explore complimentary therapies, hear guest speakers, support each other, experience sisterhood, plan the Annual Walk for Hope, and celebrate living.

JUNE 10 TO OCT 8 Old York Historical Society presents Real, Reproduction or Outright Fake? Not everything is what it appears to be, especially in the world of antiques and museum collections. What does a museum curator or collector look for to determine if a piece is real, reproduction, or fake? A season-long exhibit in the Long Parlor Gallery of Old York's Emerson-Wilcox House will show examples of furniture, glass, ceramics, textiles and other decorative arts that will both test and inform the visitor about what to look for to determine authenticity and value. Hours: Monday-Saturday Noon-2pm. The opening reception will be Friday evening, June 9th, 5-7pm.

JUNE 28 TO JULY 30 The Barn Gallery's Annual Open Show Regional Artists will take place. Also, OAA Expressions, a varied and exciting exhibition by artists of the Ogunquit Art Association will be shown in the Lower Gallery. Two printmakers, Nancy R. Davison and Hara Harding, will exhibit etchings, linocuts, woodcuts and monoprints in the newly renovated North Gallery. Invited New England Sculptors will continue to show their work in the outdoor Sculpture Court. Gallery hours are 11am-5pm daily and 1-5 pm Sunday. JULY Home Schooling Club, All Fridays in July meet at the York Harbor /Beach for fun in the sun. Bring your own beach supplies and food, come early as parking is limited to permits only in the lower lot and 2 hours on the street.
JULY & AUGUST Registrations being taken for Spanish class in September. An introductory course for those who know little of now Spanish, basic skills in reading, speaking, and understanding. JULY 1 TO AUG. 21 Ogunquit Museum of American Art, 543 Shore Rd., Ogunquit, presents two new exhibits: 139th Annual American Watercolor Society International Juried Exhibit: Founded in 1866 as "the American Society of Painters in Water Color", the American Watercolor Society is one of this nation's most prestigious arts organizations. Included in this traveling exhibition are approximately 50 paintings chosen by the 2006 AWS Jury of Selection. The other exhibit is Britain in Black & White: Photographs by Conrad Marvin. Conrad Marvin studied photography with Ansel Adams, John Sexton, and at the DeCordova Museum School. Open Monday - Saturday 10:30am-5pm & Sunday 2-5pm. Union Congregational Church, Church St., York Beach, commencing July 2, weekly worship services will be 9am, through the Labor Day weekend. FMI call 363-4821. The services will include full content with the presentation of regularly scheduled sacraments, and the participation of the full church choir. The church is expanding its music presence in the community through a group choral effort with two summer evening concerts planned. Brandy Irish, Director of Music, is opening the opportunity of ecumenical participation to vocalists throughout the area. She is seeking voices of all experience levels to join the choral group in singing a diverse repertoire of music types. Rehearsals are held Thursday evenings, 6pm, at the church.
