Ogunquit Museum of American Art presents Michael Zaretsky

OGUNQUIT - Internationally-known concert violist Michael Zaretsky will perform the Bach Cello Suites, transposed for viola, in the Sculpture Court of the Ogunquit Museum of American Art.

The event will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 1, at 6 p.m.

Born in the Soviet Union, Zaretsky was a member of the Moscow Philharmonic String Quarter.

In 1972 he moved to Israel, and in 1973 Leonard Bernstein brought Zaretsky to Tanglewood in Massachusetts, where he successfully auditioned for the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

Besides being a member of the BSO for nearly 30 years, Zaretsky regularly plays solo recitals and chamber music both nationally and internationally and has appeared with some of the leading artists of our times.

He is a faculty member at Boston University and the Longy School of Music and has made numerous highly-acclaimed recordings.

Tickets will be on sale at the OMAA beginning Monday, July 31, and may also be purchased the evening of the performance. Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for students and $11 for OMAA members. Seating is limited.
