Chevy

Chevy
I am a 2003 model year, black Labrador mix body type, neutered male model named Chevy. I am looking for a new garage in which to park myself. I was traded in to the shelter because I was not getting along with the small child in the house. Children under 12 years of age are not an option for this high octane machine and I will not be placed in a home with them.

I cruise around the shelter in playgroups with other dogs and get along with most of them after a proper introduction. If you have a dog at home please bring him to the shelter so that the staff can do an introduction. I have shown signs of possessiveness of food around other dogs, but not with people. The staff can talk to you about this if you do have a dog in your home already, or have general questions regarding food possessiveness. Cats are an option for me, but I will chase them at first. I appear to be housetrained. Keep me running on all eight cylinders by continuing my obedience training, which I have started on Thursday nights with volunteers at the shelter dog obedience class. I already know sit (park), stay (L1) and down (neutral). I am very fuel (treat) motivated and very smart, according to the volunteers who have been working with me. I even went to the May Day Parade in Kennebunk!

I get many miles to the gallon and want a family who will get the most mileage out of me. I love to play and need regular exercise. I would like to be able to be with my family most of the time, a stay-at-home parent or a self-employed person who could take me to work would be ideal. If you already have a dog at home and we hit it off at the shelter that would be a great alternative to having someone home most of the time. Come on over to the dealership (shelter) and drive (take) me home today!

June

June
Well hello there! My name is June. I am a four-year-old female kitty with brown tiger and white fur. My previous family surrendered me to the shelter because they were moving and could not bring me along. I have previously lived with kids, dogs and other kitties and get along with them very well. I adore being scratched under the chin and receiving all kinds of attention. I also like scratching posts and climbing trees. I can best be described as friendly, loving and cuddly. Sound like a great cat to you? Please visit me soon and we'll get to know one another!

Black Bear Hamsters

Black Bear Hamsters
Greetings, we're black bear hamsters. Have you ever seen such cute little ones before? We were brought to the shelter because our previous family had too many of us. Here at the shelter you'll find our mom and male and female babies. We're all young and friendly and in search of loving families. Hamsters can make great pets as long as you know that we are nocturnal and love to play at night. Sometimes that makes for a noisy night's sleep for you. We'll need continued gentle handling to keep us used to being picked up and held. Please visit us soon and find out if a hamster is the right pet for you!
