The York Hospital Breast Cancer Survivor Group, which meets the third Monday of the month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Ellis Conference Room at York Hospital, welcomes new members. Women who attend survivor groups cope better, heal more quickly and live longer. New members, whether or not their treatment was at York Hospital, are invited to come to the meetings and be with women who share their story. Friends are welcome too. During these meetings the members share information, coping tips and strategies, explore complimentary therapies, hear guest speakers, support each other, experience sisterhood, plan the Annual Walk for Hope and celebrate living.

Registrations are being taken for a Spanish class to begin in September. An introductory course for those who know little or no Spanish, basic skills in reading, speaking and understanding. Free, no fees or charges. Class size is limited to 20 participants, so register ASAP. THROUGH AUG. 21: Ogunquit Museum of American Art, 543 Shore Road, Ogunquit, presents two new exhibits: "The139th Annual American Watercolor Society International Juried Exhibit" and "Britain in Black & White: Photographs by Conrad Marvin." Founded in 1866 as "the American Society of Painters in Water Color," the American Watercolor Society is one of this nation's most prestigious arts organizations. Included in this traveling exhibition are approximately 50 paintings chosen by the 2006 AWS Jury of Selection. Conrad Marvin studied photography with Ansel Adams, John Sexton and at the DeCordova Museum School. THROUGH OCT. 8: Old York Historical Society presents "Real, Reproduction or Outright Fake?" Not everything is what it appears to be, especially in the world of antiques and museum collections. What does a museum curator or collector look for to determine if a piece is real, reproduction or fake? A season-long exhibit in the Long Parlor Gallery of Old York's Emerson-Wilcox House will show examples of furniture, glass, ceramics, textiles and other decorative arts that will both test and inform the visitor about what to look for to determine authenticity and value. Union Congregational Church Weekly worship services will be 9 a.m. through the Labor Day weekend. FMI: 363-4821. The services will include full content with the presentation of regularly scheduled sacraments, and the participation of the full church choir. The church is expanding its music presence in the community through a group choral effort.
