OGUNQUIT - Join the excitement at the famous Ogunquit Art Association Art Auction this Saturday, Aug. 5, beginning at 7 p.m.
Add the perfect painting or sculpture to your growing art collection or find a wonderful photograph or etching to begin your collection.
The doors will open at 7 p.m. and then Hap Moore, an experienced and helpful auctioneer, will start the bidding at 8 p.m.
To preview the original paintings, graphics, sculpture and photographs awaiting your bid, visit the Barn Gallery today, Wednesday, Aug. 2, through Friday, Aug. 4, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, Aug. 5, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Ogunquit Art Association is the area's oldest professional artist organization. Member artists, many with national and international reputations, will be on hand to add to the evening's festivities.
Participating artists have created original, one-of-a-kind bid cards on sale at the gallery for $25. A bid card purchase includes auction admission, catalog and refreshments. Plain bid cards are available for $5.
Some event parking is available in the Barn Gallery parking lot. Since there is an enforced parking ban on Bourne Lane across from the gallery, auction attendees are encouraged to carpool or park in the Obed's Lane parking lot behind the Dunaway Center, which is a short trolley ride or a pleasant 10-minute walk from there to the gallery.
The Barn Gallery, located at the corner of Shore Road and Bourne Lane in Ogunquit, is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
