Troy Williams has managed the York Beach Cinema for the past two seasons, taking over after his mentor, Bill Davies, passed away in 2005. This summer marks what is expected to be the final season at the 1928-era theatre. A plan to raze the cinema and build a new multi-use facility on the site was approved by the Planning Board earlier this year.

When the York School Committee meets tonight, Wednesday, Aug. 2, one of the scheduled agenda items will be a report from the Ogunquit Subcommittee on whether a plan to unite the two towns in a school district is feasible.
