Double Vision comes to the York Public Library on Thursday
YORK VILLAGE - Double your summer pleasure by attending a madcap performance of mime, song, magic and more presented at the York Public Library by the talented duo Linda and Jody Scalise of Double Vision.Their performance, "Mixed Nuts," will take place this Thursday, Aug. 10, at 10:30 a.m. Admission is free and the performance is designed for all ages.
The Scalises, who say they defied their parents and went into show business anyway, recapture the joy that vaudeville once brought. Their performances have been wildly popular wherever they've gone, from the Maine State Firemen's Convention and children's festivals to museums and music academies - earning standing ovations again and again.
Their shows defy categorization but, as they themselves write, "if you took expert and enterprising juggling, synchronized pratfalls, classic mime, zany characterizations, mystifying illusion, contortion, slow motion movement, a tight rope, a giant floating cube, a human robot, umbrellas, a vacuum, a leaf blower, stepladders, instruments, cigar boxes, a kite tail, a giant pinwheel, gibberish, toilet plungers, the jitterbug and audience members laughing till they cried, well…" that might be it!
Don't miss this chance to be part of the inspired mayhem. This program is the last in the York Public Library's Summer Family Fun Series, sponsored in part by Kennebunk Savings Bank.
The library is located at 15 Long Sands Road in the Village.
