Ogunquit News

The Fairy Godmother of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella" - also known as Leslie Uggams - paid a visit to Perkins Cove on Friday night, Aug. 4. Uggams is pictured with Capt. Bill Kingston of Finestkind Cruises, taking break from rehearsal of the play that will be running at the Ogunquit Playhouse through Aug. 26 to see the Ogunquit coastline from the ocean. Uggams said this is the first time she has visited Ogunquit and fell in love with the town immediately. She said she was excited about performing in "Cinderella," especially since her daughter, Danielle Chambers, is also in the cast. Chambers will be playing the part of Grace, one of the stepsisters.
