Local SBA offices to close Thursday
YORK - The Small Business Administrations local loan assistance centers are set to close tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 10, marking an end to the first phase of the recovery process from the Mother's Day flood back in May.The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is urging disaster victims to visit the centers, before they close Thursday.
Locally, the York Disaster Center is at the Grant House on Route 1. There is also a nearby Wells Disaster Center at the York County Community College.
The centers will continue to operate from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. through Thursday, at which time they will cease operation at both locations at the close of business.
"We want to express our thanks to the staff of York County for providing the space for the Disaster Loan Assistance Centers. The many courtesies extended to our staff have been greatly appreciated," said Frank Skaggs, director of SBA Field Operations Center East.
Anyone unable to visit the Disaster Loan Assistance Centers may obtain an application by calling the SBA Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955, Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m.
Business loan applications can also be downloaded from the SBA website at www.sba.gov/disaster.
Completed applications should be returned to the Disaster Loan Assistance Centers or mailed to the: U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Ft. Worth, TX 76155.
The deadline for economic injury applications is February 26, 2007.
