Sunday, Aug. 1312:59 a.m. Francis Ford, 29, of 25 Boush St., Kittery, was charged with sale/use of drug paraphernalia on Agamenticus Road. He is scheduled to appear in York District Court Oct. 5.
1:40 a.m. Five 17-year-old Medfield, Mass., boys were charged with illegal possession of liquor by a minor on Cycad Avenue. All five teens are scheduled to appear in York District Court Sept. 25.
12:35 p.m. A 14-year-old York boy was charged with operating an all-terrain vehicle on a public way and operating an all-terrain vehicle without protective headgear on Greenacre Drive. He is scheduled to appear in York District Court Dec. 7.
Monday, Aug. 14
6:33 a.m. An employee at Lobster Cove Restaurant reported the theft of a safe containing approximately $20,000 in cash and receipts. The safe was valued at $250. Police are investigating.
12:30 p.m. A Chevrolet van operated by Stephen M. Prendergast, 44, of Box 906, Wells, owned by Estes Oil Co. of Box 125, York, and a 2003 Buick sedan parked by Betty Jane LaChance, 58, of 141 Krzyzaniak Lane, Contoocook, N.H., were in collision on Hannaford Drive. Damage was estimated at $1,500 to the Chevrolet, $2,000 to the Buick.
2:06 p.m. A Bay Street man reported an eight-inch scratch on the driver's side front panel of his Mini-Cooper. There was no estimate of the cost of the damage.
4:04 p.m. A Pine Mountain Road woman reported five checkbooks stolen from her mail.
6:17 p.m. A 15-year-old York boy was charged with assault on Railroad Avenue in York Beach. He is scheduled to appear in York District Court Sept. 25.
Tuesday, Aug. 15
1:44 a.m. A 16-year-old Farmington, N.H., girl was charged with illegal possession of liquor by a minor in the York's Wild Kingdom parking lot on Railroad Avenue in York Beach. She is scheduled to appear in York District Court Sept. 25.
1:44 a.m. Lee Ann Sprague, 20, of 616 Portland St., Rochester, N.H., and Elizabeth Meyer, 18, of 46 Bellamy Road, Dover, N.H., were charged with illegal possession of liquor by a minor in the York Wild Kingdom parking lot on Railroad Avenue in York Beach. Both are scheduled to appear in York District Court Oct. 5.
12:16 p.m. A York woman reported a rock thrown through the window of her car while it was parked on Route 103 at the Wiggly Bridge and her purse and the purse of a visiting Newton, Mass., woman stolen. Items taken included two Coach wallets valued at $525, about $50 in cash and a cell phone valued at $150. The damage to the window was estimated at $300.
9:07 p.m. Larry A. Braley, 51, of 594 Twombly Road, Sanford, was charged with operating/allowing to be operated a vehicle when registration had been suspended. He is scheduled to appear in York District Court Dec. 7.
Wednesday, Aug. 16
7:23 a.m. A 17-year-old York boy was charged with operating while a license is suspended or revoked on Rogers Road. He is scheduled to appear in York District Court Dec. 7.
12:39 p.m. Bryant Ames, 18, of 56 Plaisted Road, York, was charged with operating under the influence and operating while a license is suspended or revoked. He is scheduled to appear in York County Superior Court Sept. 28.
12:58 p.m. A York woman reported damage to the windshield of her car by a pellet or bb Monday between 1:30 and 1:45 p.m. while she was driving south on Route 1. The damage was estimated at $213.
2:49 p.m. A West Hartford, Conn., woman reported the theft of her purse from her car parked on Lindsay Road. The purse and most of the contents were found later in the wooded area near Jefferds' Tavern. Items not recovered included a driver's license, two debit cards and $15 in cash. The purse was on the front seat of a locked vehicle but a window was inadvertently left partly down.
3:36 p.m. Ryan Nicholas, 19, of 269 Main St., Somersworth, N.H., was charged with assault in Short Sands Park. He is scheduled to appear in York District Court Sept. 6.
Thursday, Aug. 17
1:02 a.m. A 17-year-old Barrington, N.H., boy was charged with illegal transportation of liquor by a minor and operating while a license is suspended or revoked and a 17-year-old Berwick boy was charged with sale/use of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of the useable amount of marijuana at Short Sands Park in York Beach. Both are scheduled to appear in York District Court Sept. 25.
10:50 a.m. A Pine Street woman reported damage to the window of her vehicle by a bb, pellet or rock. Damage was estimated at $150. Nothing was taken from the vehicle.
11:45 a.m. A 2004 Nissan pickup truck operated by Edward G. Peterson, 64, of 12 Kerry Road, York, and a 2004 Nissan sedan operated by Adrienne Smith, 41, of 110 Ball Hill Road, Milford, N.H., and owned by Mary Jane Peterson of Delray Beach, Fla., were in collision on Old Post Road. Damage was estimated at $100 to the truck, $4,000 to the sedan.
1:33 p.m. A 2004 Dodge sedan operated by Stephanie N. Sanborn, 20, of 361 Chase's Pond Road, York, and a 1999 Subaru station wagon operated by John McVeigh, 59, of 38 Columbia, Portland, were in collision on Route 1. Damage was estimated at $1,200 to the Dodge, $1,000 to the Subaru.
3:54 p.m. A 16-year-old York boy and a 16-year-old Windham, N.H., boy were charged with illegal possession of tobacco products on Beach Street. Both are scheduled to appear in York District Court Oct. 5.
5 p.m. John J. Moore, 51, of 373 Main St., South Berwick, was charged with operating while a license is suspended or revoked on Witchtrot Road. He is scheduled to appear in York District Court Dec. 7.
7:11 p.m. A 17-year-old York female was charged with assault on Moulton Lane. She is scheduled to appear in York District Court Sept. 25.
Friday, Aug. 18
12:25 a.m. A Payne Road man reported the rear window of his 1994 GMC Yukon smashed out. Nothing was taken from the GMC and there was no estimate of damage.
11:37 a.m. An employee of the York Barber Shop on Long Sands Road reported theft of services as a man had left the shop without paying for his haircut.
6:03 p.m. Jean P. Blodgett, 43, of 23 Beehole Road, Loudon, N.H., was charged with criminal operating under the influence, illegal possession of a useable amount of marijuana and violation of Maine's open container law on Old Post Road. She is scheduled to appear in York District Court Dec. 7.
6:03 p.m. Claudia Grant, 35, of 38 Gage St., Boscawen, N.H., was charged with assault on Old Post Road. She is scheduled to appear in York District Court Oct. 5.
11:40 p.m. A 17-year-old Fitchburg, Mass., male was charged with illegal possession of liquor by a minor on Long Beach Avenue. He is scheduled to appear in York District Court Sept. 25.
Saturday, Aug. 19
12:55 a.m. Joshua D. Kent, 19, of 1 Remicks Lane, Kittery, Diana R. Foley, 19, of 5 Spinney Way No. 10, Kittery, and a 17-year-old Austin, Texas, boy were all charged with illegal possession of liquor by a minor at Short Sands Park. Kent and Foley are scheduled to appear in York District Court Oct. 5; the juvenile is scheduled to appear in York District Court Sept. 25.
12:28 p.m. Vehicles owned by four employees of York's Wild Kingdom were broken into while they were parked in the employee parking lot. Items taken include numerous CDs valued at $1,000, an iPod valued at $400, $40 in loose change, two wallets valued at $50, a makeup case valued at $20 and a visor CD holder valued at $100. The vehicles were unlocked.
12:51 p.m. Robert R. Fleck, 33, of 30A Green St., Newbury, Mass., was charged with driving to endanger after striking a pedestrian on Route 1. He is scheduled to appear in York District Court Dec. 7.
3:47 p.m. A York woman reported someone attempted to break into her car at Harbor Beach but was scared away by the car alarm. Entry was not gained and there was no damage reported.
4:04 p.m. David Driscoll, 22, of 69 Franklin St., Somersworth, N.H., was charged on Route 103 on a York County Sheriff's Department and Berwick police warrant for failure to pay a fine for operating without a license. No court date was listed.
5:47 p.m. An employee at the Irving Mainway reported someone had tried to pass a counterfeit $20. Police confiscated the bill and sent it to the United States Secret Service office in Portland. The woman who had the bill said she received it when she cashed a check at TD-Banknorth. There were no charges filed.
8:09 p.m. A 1989 Chevrolet picked operated by Michael R. Prewitt, 20, of 5 Tide Meadow Lane, York, and a 1997 Toyota sedan operated by Thomas C. Chase, 40, of 405 Pleasant St., Portsmouth, N.H., were in collision on Old Post Road. Damage was estimated at $100 to the Chevrolet, $300 to the Toyota. Prewitt was subsequently charged with operating beyond license conditions/restrictions, and sale/use of drug paraphernalia. He is scheduled to appear in York District Court Dec. 7.
10:43 p.m. A York man reported a three-foot scratch along the side of his pickup trick while it was parked at the Old York Historical Society Building in York Beach between 5 and 10 p.m. Damage was estimated at $300.
