R. Patrick McKenna
YORK BEACH - R. Patrick McKenna, 80, of York Beach and formerly of Winchester, Mass, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, in the Portsmouth Regional Hospital.He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He leaves his wife, Teresa V. (Toland) McKenna; two sons, James P. McKenna and his wife Kathy of York, and Edward F. McKenna and his wife Cindy of York Harbor; two daughters, Kathleen A. Frizzell and her husband Charles of Acton, Mass., and Patricia M. Wieczerzak and her husband Raymond of Amherst, N.H.; a brother, Jack McKenna, and a sister, Jean Brady, both of Tewksbury, Mass., 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A sister, Mary Dooley, predeceased him.
He was born in Prince Edward Island on July 14, 1926, son of John and R. Blanche (Gaudet) McKenna. He had worked for Modern Fold Door Co. in Wellesley, Mass., for many years. He was a 30-year member of the York Golf and Tennis Club, a member of St. Christopher's Church and the Carpenter's Union Local 40. He was also an active member of the York Senior Center and enjoyed square dancing and Irish music.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Pat McKenna was held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 28, in St. Christopher's Church with burial will following in First Parish Cemetery. Calling hours were held on Sunday, Aug. 27, in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home.
