Bossov Ballet to perform Sept. 17
OGUNQUIT - The Bossov Ballet Troup's rendition of "The Red Shoes "is coming to Ogunquit.The performance will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17, at 3 p.m. at the Ogunquit Playhouse.
Presented by Ogunquit Performing Arts at the Ogunquit Playhouse, this ballet was recently choreographed by ballet master Andrei Bossov.
"The Red Shoes" converts the well-known Hans Christian Anderson fairytale into a magic fantasy ballet in a new version of this legendary story.
Bossov, who was educated at the St. Petersburg Academy Ballet School, was for 20 years principal dancer and choreographer with the Kirov Ballet Company in St. Petersburg.
Currently, Bossov is artistic director of the Bossov Ballet theatre and is especially known in southern Maine for his ballets including "Bolero," "Pictures at an Exhibition" and "Carmina Burana."
Tickets are $16 and are available at the Ogunquit Playhouse Box Office, Ogunquit Welcome Center, Ogunquit Camera Shop and the Dunaway Center.
