Tickets on sale Thursday for Bruce Hornsby concert in the Seacoast

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. - Plan on getting your tickets early.

In fact, they go on sale this Thursday, Sept. 7, to the general public.

The Music Hall's Intimately Yours series is presenting Columbia Records artist Bruce Hornsby on Nov. 14 - and he has a tradition of playing to sold-out shows.

Bursting on the scene with his multi-platinum solo-debut in 1986, Hornsby has since sold more than 10 million records.

Prior to embarking on a solo career he was known as one of pop's most in-demand "side men" performing over 100 concerts alongside the Grateful Dead in the early '90s and collaborating with Bob Dylan, Don Henley, Bonnie Raitt, Béla Fleck, Stevie Nicks, Leon Russell, Clint Black and Willie Nelson, among others.

And the event features a bonus for ticket buyers.

Hornsby is celebrating his 20-year career in music with a deluxe box set collection, "Intersections: 1985 - 2005," released via RCA Legacy and for every ticket purchased for his Music Hall performance, the ticket holder will receive this commemorative four CD/DVD package - a retail value of $49.95.

"Ever since I came to The Music Hall and created the Intimately Yours signature series, people have been asking me 'When are you inviting Bruce Hornsby back to The Music Hall?' So here you are - Bruce Hornsby and a box set to boot," said Music Hall Executive Director Patricia Lynch.

For his part, Hornsby has been quoted as calling The Music Hall "one of our new favorite places to play."

Tickets go on sale to the public at noon on Thursday, Sept. 7. Ticket prices are $50 and $35 and can be purchased at The Music Hall's box office, located at 28 Chestnut St. in Portsmouth, by phone at (603) 436-2400 or online at www.themusichall.org.

The Intimately Yours series is sponsored by 92.5 The River.
