Head of Beacon Hospice named "Entrepreneur of the Year"

Beacon Hospice has an office located here in York, and Brennan has been recognized by Ernst & Young as an outstanding entrepreneur who is building and leading a dynamic and growing business.
The award was presented to Brennan at the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 20th Anniversary gala event at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel earlier this summer.
"I am honored to receive Ernst & Young's recognition of the hard work and dedication to high quality patient service that has contributed to Beacon Hospice's success," Brennan said after receiving the award. "Beacon Hospice strives to deliver the highest standard of care possible to our patients, and I believe our level of growth over the past five years reflects our efforts."
Beacon's office in York opened in April of 2005 and has over 20 employees. In York, Beacon Hospice provides patients with the opportunity to choose the manner in which they wish to live out their lives and gives them the highest level of care possible to ensure quality in living.
Beacon Hospice is the New England region's largest provider of end-of-life care services to terminally ill patients. Over the past five years, Brennan has transformed Beacon from a small, struggling business with just 14 patients and a few part-time employees into a large and growing business with over 1000 patients and 550 employees.

"Her astute business skills and true dedication to making sure Beacon Hospice is always doing the right thing for our patients have enabled Beacon Hospice to become a strong and thriving business."
As a New England winner, Brennan is now eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2006 national program. Award winners will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, Calif., on Nov. 18.
Beacon Hospice is located at 42 Brickyard Court in York.
