Join Sentry Hill residents for "Hearts and Harmony" at National Assisted Living Week
YORK HARBOR - Sentry Hill will be celebrating National Assisted Living Week from Sept. 10 through 16.The National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) established National Assisted Living week in 1995 as a time set aside to provide an opportunity for residents, families, staff, volunteers and the community to gather and celebrate each other.
Each year, the NCAL develops a theme for the week and this year's theme is "Hearts and Harmony."
In the sprit of the theme "Hearts and Harmony," Sentry Hill will be providing residents with daily entertainment.
Sentry Hill will kick the week off with a performance of love songs and ballads by Al Ashley. Mike and Bev Rogers will be entertaining on Tuesday with sweetheart songs. On Wednesday, Peter Mezoion will be at Sentry Hill playing tunes on the banjo. Thursday will feature a piano performance by Virginia Higgins in the morning and Alan Thomas in the afternoon and, on Friday, Ryan O'Hara with be singing favorite love songs.
Sentry Hill residents will also be reaching out to friends and loved ones and providing them with friendship bracelets all week long.
In addition, Sentry Hill has scheduled a Sweetheart Tea on Wednesday morning, Sept. 13.
Please come join the resident, families, staff and volunteers for this special week of celebration. The general public is welcome to all events.
To round out the week, the Fourth Annual Michael Dolan Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at the Cape Neddick Country Club on Friday, Sept. 15, to benefit the Alzheimer's Association, Maine Chapter.
Registration is at noon with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
The tournament will be followed by a barbeque, raffles and awards.
This event is co-sponsored by Sentry Hill and Home Instead Senior Care and is open to the public.
