Kona

Kona
Greetings! My name is Kona. I am a two-year-old neutered male Shiba Inu. I'm a very handsome and special boy. I am an excellent specimen of my breed, which is known for its independent, aloof, confident, smart and lively nature. I may look like a smaller dog, but I have a huge personality. I'm looking for a home with the following characteristics: adult only, cat and small animal-free, maybe a dog (if I can meet him or her here at the shelter and get along with them) and a dog-experienced family. I know this may seem like a tall order, but I just want to find a family that I'll be a good fit with. Can you blame me? I do have some food aggression issues and the shelter staff can teach you a game to play with me that will help. That's also why I'd prefer not to live with cats and kids. I do know some obedience commands but would benefit from obedience classes still. I'm on the lookout for a strong, clear leader who will take charge and let me know my boundaries. I'm not a family companion, but will make a great yet challenging friend for the right people. Please learn more about my breed at www.northeastshibarescue.com/traits.html. Thanks and I can't wait for you to stop by to meet me!
Marbles

Marbles
I had a staff member give me pointers on how to "market" myself to find my forever home. Would you believe that there are over 100 cats here that are looking for their forever home too? It sure is hard to stand out when there are so many cats to choose from. This is what I learned: just be myself. Great advice! Hi there, I'm Marbles. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am an eight-year-old girl who came to the shelter because I wasn't getting along with the other cats in the house. You know how you might not like a person? It is the same for us. I would like to find a home where I can be your only girl. I am an affectionate girl who enjoys playing. I have lived with cats and women. I'm not sure how I would do in a household with children. I have the most striking green eyes that just sparkle when I'm happy. I like to be petted and will bump your hand when you stop just so you will continue to pet me. I have the sweetest purr and am double-pawed. If you think you would love to have a girl like me, please stop by for a visit.
Black Bear Hamsters

Black Bear Hamsters
Greetings, we're black bear hamsters. Have you ever seen such cute little ones before? We were brought to the shelter because our previous family had too many of us. There is our mom and male and female babies. We're all young and friendly and in search of loving families. Hamsters can make great pets as long as you know that we are nocturnal and love to play at night. Sometimes that makes for a noisy night's sleep for you. We'll need continued gentle handling to keep us used to being picked up and held. Please visit us soon and find out if a hamster is the right pet for you!
