Football

Last Saturday, Sept. 30, the York Wildcats (4-1) completely dominated the Lake Region Lakers (0-5) by the final score of 37-6. On Sunday, Oct. 1, the York Pee Wee Youth Football A and B teams fell to their Somersworth hosts in Southern Maine Youth Football League action. If you've heard a rumor that the Recreation Department has taken over the York Sports Center on Route 1, it is not true.

Soccer

The York High School boys' soccer team continued to play closer to their potential over the past week, but move into the final third of their season still yet to show consistency in their results, losing at Yarmouth 2-0, manhandling Lakes Region 5-1 at York, then drawing at Cape over the weekend 1-1. It was almost another miracle finish for the York girls' soccer team last Friday, Sept. 29, when they hosted the Greely Rangers on the return leg from the season opener, a thrilling 2-1 overtime win for York.

Field Hockey

York High School field hockey continued their amazing season this past week with wins at Cape Elizabeth and at Yarmouth.

Cross Country

On Friday, Sept. 29, the York cross-country runners looked out the windows in apprehension, wondering if they would have to run in the rain.

Golf

On Friday, Oct. 13, Cape Neddick Country Club will host its first golf fundraiser for the York baseball program.
