Young artists invited to design milk cartons for Garelick Farms

YORK - Garelick Farms is bringing back its Milk Masterpiece Carton Design Contest this fall by inviting young artists to create commemorative designs with the theme, "Why My School is Important to Me."

Seven winning designs across seven states will be selected.

Thousands of students submitted drawings for the original design contest held last spring, and Garelick Farms hopes the enthusiasm continues with this new, school-focused theme.

According to the contest's organizers, the company services more schools than any other dairy in New England, and in doing so is proud to contribute to healthy eating habits.

The fall Milk Masterpiece Carton Design Contest is open to students in kindergarten through sixth grade in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine and the Albany, New York area. One winner will be selected from each state.

The entry deadline is Nov. 17.

Each contest winner will have his or her design featured on Garelick Farms cartons in early 2007 and receive a year's worth of Garelick Farms milk for his or her family.

In addition, each winner's art teacher will receive $500 to use toward art supplies.
