CROP Walk set for Oct. 22
YORK - "We Walk Because They Walk" is the theme chosen by the Church World Service for its annual CROP - Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty - Walk.On Sunday, Oct. 22, at 1:30 pm, the Seventh Annual York Community CROP Walk for worldwide hunger and emergency relief, sponsored by local churches, will start in the parking lot of St. Christopher Church on York Street.
This year, 25 percent of the funds raised will go to the York Community Food Pantry, the Table of Plenty in York and the Footprints Food Pantry in Kittery.
People of all ages are invited to be a part of the walk. See next week's edition of The Independent for all the details on this special event.
