Helen Roberge
YORK - Helen D. Roberge, 82, of Chelmsford, Mass., and formerly of York for over 50 years, passed away Oct. 8, 2006, in Saints Medical Center in Lowell, Mass., after a brief illness.Helen was born in Montreal, Canada, and moved to York in 1947 to help her future husband build and run the original Surf Side restaurant in York Beach. Later Helen and Arthur built and ran the Rainbow Bar & Grill. For many years, Helen worked at both Lottie's (now Rick's) and Burnettes restaurant in York Village. She enjoyed playing cards and shopping with her son.
She leaves a son, Arthur J. Roberge, Jr., of Chelmsford, Mass.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Roberge will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, in St. Christopher's Church, 4 Barrell Lane, York. Burial will follow in First Parish Cemetery.
Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home is directing arrangements.
