York Police Department Incident Log
Sunday, Oct. 82:11 a.m. Ian E. Hampshire, 26, of 60 York St., was charged with operating under the influence on York Street. He is scheduled to appear in York District Court Dec. 7.
11:33 a.m. An employee of the Long Sands General Store reported receiving a counterfeit $100 bill. The bill was sent to the Secret Service office in Portland.
5 p.m. A resident of Mill Lane reported a mailbox knocked over. There was no estimate of the cost of the damage.
Monday, Oct. 9
5:50 p.m. A 1997 Chevrolet pickup truck operated by David Haney, 62, of 157 Kings Highway, Middleton, N.H., and a 2000 Ford truck operated by Thomas Case, 52, of 307 Route 1, York, were in collision on Long Beach Avenue. Damage was estimated at $1,500 to the pickup, $200 to the truck.
Tuesday, Oct. 10
10:16 a.m. Kathleen M. Titus, 46, of 806 Cocheco Court, Dover, N.H., was charged at the police station on Main Street in York Beach on a warrant charging failure to appear in court to answer charges of operating after suspension and operating under the influence. She is scheduled to appear in York District Court Dec. 14.
4:10 p.m. A 2005 Dodge van operated by Leigh N. Peters, 59, of 24 Fernald Ave., York, and a 2003 Toyota sedan operated by Thelma I. Parker of 12 Raider Drive, Stratham, N.H., were in collision on Route 1. Damage was estimated at $1,000 to the Dodge, $500 to the Toyota.
Thursday, Oct. 12
7:36 a.m. A Winterbrook Drive resident reported the theft of a bail of hay and a scarecrow sometime during the night. There was no estimate of the value of the missing items.
8:14 a.m. A Winterbrook Drive resident reported the theft of decorations including two scarecrows and cobwebs sometime during the night. The decorations were valued at $50.
5 p.m. A 2006 Jeep sport utility vehicle operated by Mara S. Smith, 32, of 91 Raider Road, South Berwick, went off Bell Marsh Road and sustained $3,000 in damage.
Friday, Oct. 13
1:19 p.m. A resident of Caincrest reported the theft of two handguns from a parked truck. The Smith and Wesson was valued at $500 and the Kel Tech was valued at $300. Approximately $320 in cash was also taken.
1:25 p.m. A 2004 Volkswagen sedan owned by Donald F. McHugh of 4120 South Terra Verde Drive, Veradale, Wash., operated by Angela Dee Falcon, 26, of 3019 West Alive Ave., Spokane, Wash., and a 2007 Ford pickup operated by Kathleen Boone, 54, of Box 563, Moody, were in collision on Route 1. Damage was estimated at $1,200 to the Volkswagen, $1,000 to the Ford.
2:05 p.m. A 1998 Jeep sport utility vehicle owned by Charles Lucas of 34 Candlewood Lane, York, and operated by a 17-year-old York girl, and a 1995 Volvo sedan owned by Cathleen M. Gavin of 35 Old East Scituate Road, York, operated by a 16-year-old York girl were in collision on Old Post Road. Damage was estimated at $4,500 to the Jeep, $4,000 to the Volvo.
Saturday, Oct. 14
2:25 a.m. Christopher S. Welch, 32, of 5B Marten Lane, York, was charged with operating under the influence on Route 1. He is scheduled to appear in York District Court Dec. 7.
11:35 a.m. A 2003 Ford sport utility vehicle operated by Kimberly A. Kostiew, 42, of 160 Millshore Drive, Hampstead, N.H., and a 1996 Mercury sedan operated by Mary I. Johnston of 55 Littleton Road, Ayer, Mass., were in collision on Route 1. Damage was estimated at $3,000 to the Ford, $5,000 to the Mercury.
3:47 p.m. A Lawrenceville, Ga., resident reported a missing wallet on Railroad Avenue. The wallet contained about $40 in cash, several credit cards and a state of Georgia driver's license.
5:30 p.m. A 1989 Ford sport utility vehicle owned by Michael L. Campbell and operated by Linda K. Campbell, 38, of 214 Belle Marsh Road, South Berwick, ran off Bell Marsh Road and struck a tree. Damage was estimated at $7,000.
8:38 p.m. A 16-year-old York girl was charged with illegal possession of liquor by a minor at York High School during the Homecoming dance. She is scheduled to appear in York Juvenile Court Nov. 6.
