Nick

Nick
I am a beautiful seven-year-old neutered male German shepherd dog mix looking for a family who appreciates and understands my predominant breed, the German shepherd dog. Nick here, back at the shelter looking for my forever home. You may recall that I was adopted a while back and my family returned me because I was wary of strangers. That is just part of my breed. I can be taught, by a strong and confident leader, that I do not have to make a decision about strangers or anything else. You will make my decisions for me and I can relax. Continued work on my obedience training will give you and me a strong bond and a working relationship. I get along with most dogs, and if you have a dog the staff can do a proper introduction. I have touch sensitivity and because of this will only be placed in a home with kids over 12 years of age. I am housetrained, too! Since I have been back at the shelter I appeared in the Kennebunk May Day Parade and have continued my obedience work at the shelter dog obedience classes on Thursday nights with one of my favorite volunteers. She took me to the parade too. If you are looking for a 100 percent German shepherd dog in heart, personality, loyalty and smarts- without the classic pointy ears - come see me. I recently underwent surgery on my ACL ligament, which was giving me pain. I'm on the mend now and am staying in the staff lounge for some extra TLC! Make sure you stop by the shelter and ask about me.
Sarah

Sarah
I'm a very talented girl! I decided that if I winked when my picture was taken that it could make me standout from the other cats and help me find my forever home. You see, there are so many other cats looking for homes that it can be hard to stand out. So is it working? Do you want to take me home? I'm Sarah and I'm homeless. I came to the shelter as a stray from Arundel. I know; hard to believe that such a striking girl like me doesn't have a home to call my own. I'm a friendly two-year-old who has medium-length fur, so I will need some help with brushing. I like to be petted on my head and will purr up a storm. I'm sweet, but am a bit shy when I first meet people. It doesn't take me long to warm up, though. So, what do you say? Can I come live with you?
Degus

Degus
Greetings, we're Degus! Have you ever seen critters like us before? We're members of the rodent family and look similar to gerbils, only we're larger. We're very social creatures who need other Degus for companionship. Because of this, the two girls, Shirley and Laverne, will need to stay together, and the three boys will also want to go home together. Our cages are included with our adoptions! The boys' names are Larry, Moe and Curly! Our previous family could no longer keep us, so we were brought to the shelter. We are all brown and are adults, but less than one year old. We are friendly and will become even more social through regular handling in our new families. If you are interested in learning more about us, please visit the shelter and spend some time with us!
