U-14 SOCCER HEADED TO STATES. York's under-14 co-ed soccer team played in regional competition games this past weekend. The U-14 team went undefeated, winning all three of its games, and advancing to the state level competition. On Saturday, Oct. 21, York defeated Marswhood (7-0) and Lake Region (6-0), and on Sunday, York defeated Massabesic (4-1). Pictured are U-14 athletes include Jared Fitzgerald and Stephanie Gallagher in the weekend's games.

Football

Sophomore starting quarterback Evan Wallace was all smiles after the Wildcats beat the Falmouth Yachtsmen, 42-20. On Sunday morning, Oct. 22, the York Pee Wee Youth Football A and B teams each won their games as they hosted the Wells Warriors at the York High School football field in Southern Maine Youth Football League action.

Soccer

The fourth ranked York girls' soccer team survived a heart stopper last Saturday, Oct. 21, at York when they outgunned number five Lake Region 5-4 in overtime to advance to the Western Maine Class B semifinals against top ranked and undefeated Falmouth yesterday. The number five ranked York Wildcats advanced to the Western Maine Class B finals with a 2-1 overtime win at Newcastle last Saturday, Oct. 21, over the number four Lincoln Academy Eagles, followed by a home win yesterday, Oct. 24, over Freeport 4-2.

Field Hockey

Field hockey entered the playoffs 14-0.

Cross Country

At the regional cross-country meet on Saturday, Oct. 21, the York girls shone as brightly as ever, and the boys' team qualified for the state meet for the 10th year in a row.
