'Tis the season… for fun on the farm
Area spots to pick-your-own produce, take a hayride, etc.
The Great Corn Maze at Zach's Farm is open for the season through Halloween. Take a hayride through the farm to find your way through this massive maze, or visit with John Zacharias and family while enjoying the bounty of the season for sale at the farmstand or picking pumpkins in the pumpkin patch. YORK - Local children of all ages will be the first to tell you that the Great Corn Maze at Zach's Farm is open for the season.
Blaisdell Farm on Southside Road in York offers pumpkins and more at its farmstand. Check it out when it's open on the farm grounds just outside of York Village.
But that's not all there is to do at Zach's and at other farms across York County.

Gile's Family Farm on Brock Road in Lyman offers McIntosh, Cortland, Red and Golden Delicious, Macoun and Brocks apples as well as free wagon rides to the picking area. Pumpkin Valley Farm on Union Falls Road in Dayton is home to a five-acre Portland Sea Dogs corn maze. The farm also offers the "Corn Launcher," a tire pyramid children's play area, animal barnyard, slide tunnel, cow train and more. Fall decorative items like pumpkins, cornstalks, straw and gourds are available for purchase. Romac Orchard on H Road in Acton lets you enjoy apple picking with the White Mountains and Maine's lakes in view. Apples include McIntosh, Macouns, Red and Golden Delicious and Cortlands. Zach's Farm and The Great Corn Maze, right here in York on Colby Turner Road off Birch Hill Road, is open Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays through Halloween from noon to 6 p.m. A tractor-pulled hayride brings you through the farm to the entrance of the maze. There's even pumpkin-picking offered at the farm. The farmstand, featuring Zach's famous corn as well as melons, flowers, cucumbers, pumpkins and more, is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., daily.
