Maine Bankers Association endorses Lemont

KITTERY- Recently, the Maine Bankers Association released a statement endorsing Ken Lemont's campaign for State Senate District 1, which includes Kittery, Eliot, York and Ogunquit.

In a recent letter, Joseph Pietroski, president of the Maine Bankers Association, expressed the association's concern for the economic condition of Maine, in particular, the need for greater economic opportunities for all of Maine's people. This concern was their primary reason for endorsing Lemont.

"Our board is committed to supporting candidates like Ken who support new state initiatives that will bring about a vibrant state economy, a well managed state government, lower taxes, and inspired political leadership," explained Pietroski. "We are very impressed with the record that Ken achieved in his time as a Maine State Senator. Ken is a strong advocate for a better business climate, a stronger Maine economy, and for restrained state spending."

During his time in the legislature, Lemont was known for his advocacy of Maine businesses and willingness to listen to the issues that concerned businesses.

When asked why he chose to run again, Lemont stated that "Southern York County is in desperate need of an experienced voice up in Augusta so the interest that truly matter to our community can effectively be represented."

Lemont, a former Portsmouth Naval Shipyard employee and small business owner, served in the Maine State Legislature for 12 years as both a representative and senator.
