A HAPPY HALLOWEEN. The York Parks and Recreation Department once again hosted its hit event of this spooky season: the Costume Parade and Halloween Hop. From the parade through York Village to the costume contest, dancing and games at the York Public Library, the event drew hundreds to the center of town on Friday evening, Oct. 27, to celebrate the holiday. Among those pictured are Chauncey the Pumpkin Pup and Gordon Diment the Spider, just prior to the parade, as well as several of this year's costume contest winners. Griffin and Cavin McNamara as LEGO blocks and Abi Eneman as Tree Spirit tied for the Most Creative Costume category. Sarah Garfield, pictured here with her masked friend Julie Walter, won for the Most Original category for her stove costume. Becca Prouty and Katie Mahoney, as Mulan I and Mulan II, won the award for Most Traditional. The Cutest Costume award went to Samara Buck as a turtle (not pictured).
