"Utopian" fundraiser in Cape Neddick this Thursday

CAPE NEDDICK - Drive slowly along Route 1 and keep your eyes peeled for Utopia.

Named after the mythical place of ideal and perfect harmony for the senses, this little shop is filled with unique treasures and pleasures, and offers a variety of price points to fit your wallet.

Utopia also wishes to announce a fundraising event for a local non profit, the Herne Schools of Discovery, on Thursday, Nov. 9. The shop is open until 8 p.m. and a portion of proceeds from the day's sale will benefit Herne's Global and Community Studies programs. Customers are to simply mention that they wish their sale to benefit the Herne School, and the school will receive a portion of the sale.

Located in the former post office at the Cape Neddick House, Utopia's offerings include cards and wrapping paper, artisan glassware, antiques, furniture, locally handcrafted jewelry and more.

Store owners Julie Robert and Jeanne Lombardi have endeavored to create a shop that can be described as "divinely and warmly eclectic."

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Wednesday, with extended hours until 8 p.m. on Thursdays.
