YORK - Four teenagers were charged with criminal mischief on Bay Haven Road last Tuesday, Oct. 31, for an incident involving shooting street signs with paintball guns that allegedly began in Ogunquit.

The four area youths were charged shortly before 8:30 p.m. in connection with signs hit in York.

Matthew E. Hensel, 18, of 840 Tatnic Road, North Berwick, two 17-year-old boys and a 16-year-old boy were charged in connection with incidents involving shooting at traffic signs with a paintball gun, which local police reported began in the town of Ogunquit and continued in York.

The teens told police there didn't mean to damage any property; they just wanted to hit the signs.
