Home Instead Senior Care to open in York

YORK - Home Instead Senior Care has announced some big changes.

Local resident Jeannie Rudman has joined its team as community service director, and with her arrival, Home Instead Senior Care will open a York Village office at 273 York St. to better serve its clients.

As Howard L. Schultz, president of the senior care operation, explained, "The town of York and surrounding areas has always been an important geography for us, a place where we have been able to establish a strong client base and provide quality service to our clients and their families."

Home Instead Senior Care enables older adults to live independently, providing in-home, non-medical one-on-one support.

The company's "CAREGivers" provide help that includes meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders and escorting individuals to shopping and other errands and appointments, as well as assistance with personal care.

Rudman brings more than years experience working with seniors in active independent living, assisted living and long term care settings, most recently serving as sales and marketing director for Sentry Hill at York Harbor.

At Home Instead Senior Care, she will focus her efforts in southern York County, and her responsibilities will include community outreach and serving as a liaison with health and eldercare professionals; recruitment and support for qualified CAREGivers; account management and administration of Home Instead Senior Care's York Village office.

The Kennebunk and York offices provide services throughout York County and are part of a network of over 650 independently owned and operated offices worldwide.

For many years, Rudman has been actively involved in Memory Walk and the Michael Dolan Memorial Golf Tournament, fundraisers supporting the Alzheimer's Association, Maine Chapter. She will be working closely with Margy Gambell, R.N., who has served as community service director since 2004 at Home Instead, and will continue to focus on a wide range of marketing, community service and account management responsibilities.

"We have been waiting for someone with Jeannie's experience and familiarity with the community to open a new office and spearhead that effort," Schultz said. "I am very excited about Jeannie joining our team and the expansion this will enable for our organization."
