Leona Danforth

YORK - Leona A. (Donnell) Danforth, 84, a longtime resident of York and more recently of 1280 Sanford Road, Wells, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, in York Hospital.

She was born June 2, 1922, in Malden, Mass., daughter of Arthur and Susan (Stover) Donnell.

She had owned and operated Danforth Auto Body in York along with her husband and had also worked at the Harbor Home. She enjoyed planting flowers and growing Cactuses. She leaves her daughter-in-law, Sharon L. Perkins of North Berwick; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Her husband, John Danforth; three sons, Bruce, John and Robert Danforth, and two sisters, Rita Watts and Doris Savage, all predeceased her.

The calling hours for Mrs. Danforth were held Nov. 10 and the funeral service on Nov. 11 in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, with burial in First Parish Cemetery.
