YORK - Kittery Point artist Wendy Turner will exhibit watercolors at the York Public Library from Dec. 1 to Jan. 27.
By special arrangement with the library, Turner will host an opening reception on Friday, Dec. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. All are welcome.
With light, color and clarity, Turner has painted with watercolor and pastel for over 30 years. Her most recent work, large intricate close-ups of light on rocks and water, reflects her lifelong love of the ocean and the coast of Maine. She paints in a boathouse studio overlooking Pepperell Cove in Kittery Point.
Turner's work is in many private and corporate collections, as well as in the permanent collection of the Ogunquit Museum of American Art.
The national exhibition, "Watercolor USA," selected her paintings for display in both 2002 and 2004.
Down East, Maine Boats and Harbors and American Artist magazines have published features on her art.
On Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 5:30 p.m., Turner will discuss her work at a public Gallery Talk at the library. Snow date for the program is Jan. 16, at 5:30 p.m.
