ON THE BIG STAGE. Five York High School soccer standouts traveled to the North American Super Y club soccer championships this past weekend in Tampa, Fla., as members of Seacoast United Soccer Club of Hampton, N.H. Pictured here are Chelsea Tewell, Stephanie Plaisted, Seacoast United Director and U-17 Girls Coach Paul Willis, Kate Rasche and Emma Clark. Tewell and Clark participated in the girls U-15 division, and Plaisted and Rasche were members of the U-17 squad. Also pictured is Joe Corsello, center back for the Seacoast -U17 boys' team. The tournament brought together regional Super Y champions from throughout the United States to play in one of the top youth competitions in the country. Plaisted and Rasche's U-17 team won three of four games, knocking off teams from Atlanta, California and Ottawa, Canada, but failed to reach the final round. Corsello's U-17 team played through to the final match, losing a heartbreaker to HC United of Florida in PK's after drawing 0-0 through double overtime in the championship match. Last Sunday, Nov. 19, upwards of 200 players, parents, coaches and friends gathered at Foster's Clambake to honor this year's York High School Wildcats football team.
