ON THE BIG STAGE. Five York High School soccer standouts traveled to the North American Super Y club soccer championships this past weekend in Tampa, Fla., as members of Seacoast United Soccer Club of Hampton, N.H. Pictured here are Chelsea Tewell, Stephanie Plaisted, Seacoast United Director and U-17 Girls Coach Paul Willis, Kate Rasche and Emma Clark. Tewell and Clark participated in the girls U-15 division, and Plaisted and Rasche were members of the U-17 squad. Also pictured is Joe Corsello, center back for the Seacoast -U17 boys' team. The tournament brought together regional Super Y champions from throughout the United States to play in one of the top youth competitions in the country. Plaisted and Rasche's U-17 team won three of four games, knocking off teams from Atlanta, California and Ottawa, Canada, but failed to reach the final round. Corsello's U-17 team played through to the final match, losing a heartbreaker to HC United of Florida in PK's after drawing 0-0 through double overtime in the championship match.
