Festival of Lights
Make a difference for children in need at this year's Festival of Lights
YORK VILLAGE - The York Rotary Club, American Legion Post #56, and Boy Scouts Troop 301 are working together in the Toys for Tots program this Christmas season. The organizations are seeking donations of new toys or gift cards for young boys and girls up to the age of 16.
Collection boxes will be placed at various businesses throughout the York area throughout the weeks ahead, but you can also help at the Festival of Lights Parade this Saturday.
Watch for the Toys for Tots float in this year's parade; members from the Boy Scouts and York Rotary Club will be collecting donated toys to fill up the Toys for Tots gift box that will be on their holiday float.
"Please help us make this Christmas a happy one for a young boy or girl by placing a new toy or gift card into one of our collection boxes," said Ray Bald of the York Rotary Club. "The toys will be collected, wrapped and distributed to boys and girls who could use some Christmas cheer this year."
Collection boxes were placed at various locations across town beginning on Saturday, Nov. 25. If you are unable to bring a toy to the parade, be on the lookout for collection points across town, including the York Schools and the American Legion.
