AWS Holiday Open House is Dec. 9
KENNEBUNK - The Animal Welfare Society will hold its 2006 Holiday Open House to celebrate the season with friends, neighbors and visitors.In addition, all "shelter alumni" are invited to the event, which will feature snacks, a visit from Santa and even complimentary gifts for those former shelter residents who come back to visit.
"This Open House is also a chance for people to visit and learn a bit more about the shelter and the many wonderful programs we have," said Program Coordinator Katie D. Lisnik. "You can also check out all our adoptable animals. Perhaps you'll find a new companion to share the holidays with."
The AWS Holiday Open House will be held on Dec. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Santa will be on hand to take pictures with all of the children - and animals - who attend, and has brought a tree for the shelter where people can leave presents for the animals who currently reside there.
"We appreciate any and all donations," Lisnik said. "This season we are in need of canned and dry kitten and dog food, scoopable cat litter, copy paper and cleaning supplies. … Join us at the shelter for a chance to make the holiday season for these animals, and yourself, a little brighter."
