Don't stand in line, bid online
YORK - The holiday season is here and so are the long lines, cranky shoppers, screaming kids, sold out items and your never ending shopping list.Never fear, though. The Greater York Region Chamber of Commerce is offering an easier way to get all the gifts for your holidays.
The Not-So-Normal Auction is going on now through Dec. 15. From signed cookbooks from the Barefoot Contessa, sailing trips around York Harbor, Mount Desert Island and Portsmouth Harbor, brand new and classic cars, restaurant gift certificates and hotel stays to cooking classes, one of a kind unique gift baskets and items, trips to exotic locations, an MTV-TRL experience, sports memorabilia from the Patriots and Red Sox, and spa sessions, the chamber promises something for everyone with the ease of at-home shopping.
From now until Dec.15 go to www.gatewaytomaineauction.com, register as a bidder and go after that one-of-a-kind gift you have your eye on with no lines, no pushy shoppers and no trekking out in the cold.
And, at the same time, you can support some worthy causes.
Proceeds will be going to the chamber's yearly functions, community events and to the Child Abuse Prevention Council of York County.
So, stay at home and bid - but keep checking back to see the latest additions to the online auction options and to keep tabs on all the bidding wars.
