GUITAR AT ITS BEST IN PORTLAND. Jim Weider's ProJECT PERCoLAToR, featuring Rodney Holmes on drums, Mitch Stein on guitar and Ron Jenkins on bass, will be playing at the Asylum in Portland on Saturday, Dec. 9. Weider, a former member of the legendary group The Band, is a master of classic telecaster guitar and is renowned for his rock and blues-based signature sound. He is also no stranger to the York Beach music scene, with past performances in this area. His first solo CD, "Big Foot," was praised by Vintage Guitar Magazine as "the highest-quality recording we've heard in a very long time. Any guitar purist will be impressed with Weider's varied styles - rock, rockabilly, slide, good old blues and even some 'chicken-pickin' country. This is a celebration of guitar at its best." ProJECT PERCoLAToR will be playing songs from Weider's new CD, "Percolator," as well as from his previous CDs, with an improvisational flare that is different at every show.
