Russell Williams
Russell W. WilliamsHe was born Dec. 26, 1933, in Baldwin, Long Island, NY, son of Edward R. and Stella (Shipper) Williams. He had lived in Holden, Mass., from 1973 to 1989 before moving to Ogunquit.
He was a member of the Exchange Club in Holden. As a 15-year member of the York Lions Club, he was the recipient of the Melvin Jones Award. He had served on the Vestry for St. Francis Episcopal Church in Holden and St. George's Episcopal Church in York Harbor.
He had worked as a district manager for Friendly's Restaurants for 25 years before retiring. He was also the co-owner of the Seacoast Fine Dining Club along with his wife.
He leaves his wife of 47 years, Marcia L. (Holm) Williams; two daughters, Andrea J. Cogswell and her husband, Cameron B. Cogswell, of Holden, Mass., and Julie A. Munyan and her husband, Andrew P. Munyan, of South Berwick; a brother, E. Thomas Williams of East Longmeadow, Mass., and three grandchildren, Nicholas H. Munyan, Deborah A. Munyan and Leeland J. Cogswell.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Rd., York.
The Episcopal Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, in St. Christopher's Church, Rt. 1A (4 Barrell Lane), York.
